A trial by an external provider was carried out and 20 participants underwent clinical hydration testing to measure exactly how our Intimate Cream performs on the skin. A great podcast on sexual health after cancer!

This episode (ep. 201) sees host Dani Binnington open up an important and often hard to talk about conversation on sexual health after cancer treatment. For many people, treatment induced menopause or physical changes caused by cancer therapy can make intimacy feel confusing, uncomfortable, or even off limits. This episode aims to gently change that.

At the heart of the discussion is reassurance and choice. There’s no one “right” way to navigate sexual wellbeing after cancer, and listeners are encouraged to explore options that feel right for their bodies, relationships, and comfort levels.

The episode takes a refreshingly practical, workshop style approach, designed to reduce embarrassment and make these conversations feel normal and manageable. Rather than theory or judgement, the focus is on realistic, evidence-based strategies that people can actually use.

One key topic is Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) – a common set of symptoms after menopause and cancer treatment, including vaginal dryness, irritation, pain during sex, and urinary changes. Dani and expert guest Eleanor Gardner break this down clearly and compassionately.

Together, they also walk through a range of tools and aids that can support comfort and sexual wellbeing, including:

Last August, Canberra Health Services travelled to Fiji to deliver cancer education workshops in Nadi and Suva, with generous support from us at Olive & Bee through the provision of free Olive & Bee Intimate Cream samples and brochures to the Fiji Cancer Society.

The visit allowed for the sharing of Australian oncology practices while also learning from the resourceful, patient-centered care of Fijian nurses. Despite limited formal oncology nursing education in Fiji, strong collaboration between the Fiji Cancer Society, survivors and volunteers ensure practical support for patients, including the use of Olive & Bee Intimate Cream samples to manage vaginal dryness during treatment.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month!

January 2026 is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in Australia, highlighting the importance of prevention and early detection. With the HPV vaccination program and the National Cervical Screening Program, cervical cancer is largely preventable, but regular screening for people remains vital. This month encourages Australians to check their screening status, learn about self-collection options, and take simple steps to protect their health.
